Six MACU Student-Athletes Named to USCAA All-Academic Team

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association has named six Mid-Atlantic Christian University student-athletes to the National All-Academic Team for the 2018 season.  The six athletes is a record number for the Mustangs among the fall sports with three coming from Volleyball, two from Soccer and one from Golf.

Representing volleyball are senior Leah Maclin, junior Brealle White, and sophomore Gabrielle Howlett.  An Elementary Education major from South Mills, NC, Maclin has set the standard for future student-athletes being named to the All Academic team for the third time in her career.  White, from Kill Devil Hills, NC, is being named to the All Academic team for the second consecutive year and is a Youth and Family Ministry major.  A sophomore from Mocksville, NC, Howlett is pursuing a Bachelors degree in Biology.

For the first time in program history the soccer team is represented on the National All-Academic team as sophomores Allison Hackett and Jonathan Langley were both named for the first time.  Hackett, from Gates, NC, is a Business Administration major and Langley, from Columbia, NC, is pursuing a degree in Youth and Family Ministry.  

Making the team for his second consecutive year and representing the golf team is Junior Ryan Kelley.  Kelley, a Youth and Family major is from Reidsville, NC.  

Student-athletes earn USCAA All-Academic Honors by being a Sophomore or higher(by academic standards) and having maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher over the course of their academic career.
