Mustangs Register Historic First Win

Friday February 14 will be a Valentines Day to remember, as the Mustangs pounded out 8 hits to score 9 runs enroute to the programs first ever win, a 9-3 victory over Piedmont International University.

Playing in just the 5th game of the season, the young Mustangs came out swinging early to open up a 3-2 lead after just two innings of play.  Freshman Starter Tristan Stinson put together seven strong innings with 8 strikeouts and zero earned runs while only giving up 3 hits and a walk.

Center fielder Caleb Whitley led the Mustangs at the plate going 3 for 5 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored while also showing off his speed on the bases with 3 stolen bases.  Second baseman Ryan Mitchell-Bagley added 2 RBIs for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs Baseball team returns to action February 26 at Eastern Metro Athletic Conference rival Apprentice School in Newport News, Virginia for a double header starting at 1 pm.
