Men's Basketball Releases Schedule for 2017-18

Mid-Atlantic Christian University Men's Basketball team has officially released its schedule for the 2017-18 season.  Six players return for the Mustangs including sharp shooters Leander Williams and Markel Ming, and they will be joined by nine new recruits to take on the strongest schedule in program history.

Led by third year Head Coach Allan Harris, the Mustangs will look to start out strong as they head out on the road to take on NAIA schools Pikesville University and Bethel University in the Appalachian Wireless Classic.  The Men's team returns for their home opener at Chesson Gym as they host the sixth annual MACU Mustangs Classic from November 9-11.  This year's classic will feature the 2017 Small College NIT Champion Trinity College, Montreat College and Carolina Christian College.  November 18 will see the team step into USCAA play for the first time on the young season as they play host to longtime rival Christendom College.

November 21st will mark the first of three match-ups for the Mustangs against NCAA Division I opponents when they head to Greensboro, NC to play North Carolina A&T.  A long road trip to Siena Heights and Spring Arbor over the Thanksgiving Break will mark the Mustangs first trip to Michigan, the home state of Coach Harris.  The men head back into action against perennial MEAC powerhouse and their second Division I opponent, Hampton University, on November 29th.  December is highlighted by a home game with Stratford University on the 8th before the men conclude the first semester December 14th against another MEAC member, Norfolk State.

The spring semester starts out on the road for the Mustangs as they head to Apprentice School in Newport News, VA for the MLK Classic before returning home to face USCAA rival Warren Wilson.  For the sixth straight season the Mustangs will head into action at the Vaughn Center to take on the Vikings of Elizabeth City State University on January 30th.  The season ends with a three game home stand including visits from Johnson and Wales, and one of the top teams in the USCAA in Central Penn College.  The Mustangs finish the regular season at home February 23rd as they celebrate senior night with the lone senior on the team Dixon Ogwo, in a match-up versus Patrick Henry College.
