Returning home for the first time in nearly a month the MACU Men's Basketball team rallied from a 6 point half time deficit to secure their first win of the season 73-68 over Regent University. The Mustangs used a suffocating defense to force 32 turnovers by the Royals including 20 steals which led to 32 points off of turnovers for MACU.
Freshman Garfield Brown, a former player at Northeastern High School in Elizabeth City, NC, led the Mustangs in scoring with 26 points on 50% shooting from the field while going a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line. Greg Bloodsworth added 20 points and led the Mustangs with 7 steals on defense while Malik Galloway anchored the defense inside with 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. The Mustangs bench got in on the action out scoring the Royals bench 23-19, with Aaron Scott contributing 9 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.
The Men's Basketball team returns to action December 12th when they travel to Apprentice School(5-2) to take on the Builders in an Eastern Metropolitan Athletic Conference game starting at 7 pm.
