Playing on the road in the final game of the regular season the MACU Mustangs Men's Basketball team had a lot to play for. A win and they were locked into a semifinal match-up with the Apprentice school in the EMAC tournament while a loss would drop them to fourth and a Tuesday rematch with the Owls in the quarterfinals with a trip to Charlotte NC on the line. The Mustangs jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the opening minutes of the game and never relinquished control on their way to a 78-62 win over Warren Wilson. With the win the Mustangs moved to 4-4 in the conference and 3rd place overall.
Junior guard Kevin Fletcher came up big for the Mustangs with 24 points on 9-13 shooting from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line to go along with 9 rebounds. Junior forward Malik Galloway came off the bench to notch his sixth double double of the season with 16 rebounds to go along with his 18 points on 8-10 shooting while fellow junior Justin Parker chipped in a double double of his own with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Mustangs begin post season play in the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference tournament on February 28 as they take on the Apprentice School in Charlotte, NC at Johnson and Wales University.
