Allan Harris has been the head coach for the Mid-Atlantic Christian University Mustangs since 2015. Coach Harris has more than 15 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels. Harris was educated in the Detroit Public School system where he excelled on the court and in the classroom for Western High School. Upon his graduation he accepted both basketball and academic scholarships to Siena Heights College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1990. In 2008 Coach Harris was inducted into the Siena Heights University’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Following his collegiate playing days Coach Harris was selected to play professional basketball in the European Basketball Association in Madrid, Spain where he would play the next four seasons. He received his Master’s Degree from Cambridge College in January 2006, and his advanced degree in Curriculum & Instruction/Educational Administration in 2008 also from Cambridge College and has been serving as an educator since the year 2000.
Coach Harris is the proud Pastor of First Baptist Church in Gates, NC and currently resides in Elizabeth City, NC with his wife Josie Wills Harris. Together they have four children: Ariel, Allan Jr., Alexis, and Aaron.
