MACU Lady Mustangs Release 2017-18 Season

Mid-Atlantic Christian University Women's Basketball has officially released it's schedule for the 2017-18 season.

Led by 2017 USCAA 2nd Team All-American Aleah McNeal and junior three point specialist Talethia Alexander, the Lady Mustangs return 5 players to go along with 4 newcomers that will take on a difficult schedule featuring 17 games on the road and 10 at home.  The season begins on the road for MACU with a USCAA match-up at Penn State Mont Alto on November 4th followed by a return trip to Davis College to defend their 2016 Tip-off Tournament Championship.  On November 16th the Lady Mustangs host the Pride of Greensboro College in their home opener at Chesson Gym followed by a rematch with one of the Mustangs longest running rivalries, with Christendom College on November 18th.   Going all the way back to the 2012-13 season, the Crusaders and Mustangs have played nine times with Christendom holding a slight edge in the series at 4-5.

On December 1st the Lady Mustangs take on the Wildcats from Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte North Carolina before returning home for the last home game of the semester December 8th against Trinity Washington University.  December 8th will also mark the culmination of the Lady Mustangs 2nd Annual Tis' the Season fundraiser, that provides presents for local elementary students in need as well as Christmas dinner for their families.  The team looks to closeout the fall semester as they head to the sunshine state of Florida on December 16th to take on Trinity College.

2018 starts off the same way 2017 ended as the Lady Mustangs head off on the road for their Pennsylvania Road Trip for the third consecutive year, this time taking on Penn State York, Central Penn College and Cairn University, where MACU came away with a 86-83 double OT win a season ago.  The 5th Annual MACU Lady Mustangs Showcase opens up Chesson Gym for 2018 featuring Davis College, Warren Wilson College, and Central Penn on January 19-20.  Key matchups with Washington Adventist(1/30), at Warren Wilson (2/10) and Pheiffer University (2/13) highlight the remainder of the season before the Lady Mustangs return home to celebrate Senior Night with 2017 USCAA Honorable Mention Tierra Lester on February 16th.
