Sunshine State Savanna Joining the Lady Mustangs!

Sunshine State Savanna Joining the Lady Mustangs!

The Lady Mustangs landed quite a TALL adition to the women's volleyball program last week!  The program is excited to introduce Savanna Bannerman a 6' 2" MB, OH from Royal Palm Beach High School in Royal Palm Beach, FL.  She was a 3 year starter on her high school team and a captain for 1 of the seasons on her club team.

Savanna garnered MVP awards for the Orlando Volleyball Academy tournament in Orlando as well as at the Cloverleaf Invitational.  She also received recognition for Best All-Around hitter, most kills and most aces during her club play.

Besides being quite possibly the tallest female student in the history of the University, she also brings with her a big passion for being in a Christian University, to be challenged spirtually and academically.  Savanna is seeking a Nursing Degree and wants to use the passions and abilities God has provided to serve others.  She also has a real talent and love for photography and mentioned how she might be able to use these talents to bring even more exposure to MACU Athletics.

Athletic Director Neal Alligood had these words to share about Miss Bannerman:

"We are very excited about having a wonderful student athlete like Savanna joining our program at this late stage in recruiting.  This is truly a tremendous find for our program, who had been seeking a noticeable presence in the middle of our lineup.  Savanna seems to be a terrific fit for MACU in an all-around capacity with her desire to grow Spiritually, Academically and Athletically!  I know she will have a great impact on our campus community and I'm thrilled to get the chance to work with her in the upcoming years."
