Mid~Atlantic Christian University Athletics is proud to announce its next addition to the women's volleyball program! Miss Melody Allen from Pantego, NC has signed to play volleyball in the Fall with the Lady Mustangs.
Athletic Director, Neal Alligood, made the trek deep into eastern NC last Tuesday to sign the 5' 3" multiple sport athlete. The signing was held in the gym at Terra Ceia Christian School where Allen has attended and played for the last 2 years. She started her high school career at Pungo Christian Academy but transferred after her sophomore season.
Being a veteran of the Christian School environment makes Allen's addition to the Lady Mustangs an instant great connection! She already understands well the commitment to the principles that MACU stands for and how to combine discipline in the classroom as well as on the court.
Allen was a 2 time recipient of the Coach's Award and was the starting setter for the Knights during her senior season. At her signing she was flanked by her parents Stanley and Susan Allen.
AD Alligood offered up these thoughts about the addition of Melody to MACU:
"We are excited to have Melody joining our University and women's volleyball program. She and her family well understand what our Christian University culture is all about. She is passionate about many of the things she pursues and I can't wait to see that carry over to the court here at MACU! I believe we have found yet another shining example of the kind of student-athlete which will continue to grow our program in a positive direction."
Welcome to Mustang Nation Melody and the Allen family!
