MACU Names New Volleyball Coach

Elizabeth City –The Mid-Atlantic Christian University Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Steve Halsted is set to be the third head coach for the Women's Volleyball team new beginning with the 2018 season.  Halsted makes the move across town from NCAA Division II Elizabeth City State University where he held the position of Head Coach for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.  In addition to his time at ECSU, Coach Halsted has spent 25 years in club volleyball in the Hampton Roads area.

Coach Halsted holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Cal State Polytechnic University - Pamona and resides in Norfolk, VA.

Coach Halsted commented, "I am excited about the new opportunity.  I look forward to meeting the players in August.  I hope that we can come together quickly, have fun learning the game, and have a season we can all be proud of."  

Athletics Director Andy Meneely states, "Coach Halsted brings the necessary amount of experience and technical expertise to really help our program take the next step.  He understands what we stand in being a Christian college.  I am looking forward to seeing the strides we can make as we try to grow the volleyball program and the athletics program as a whole."
