Mustangs Do Not Go Down Quietly

Box Score

It was another case of bigger, faster and stronger carrying the day as Mid-Atlantic Christian fell to NCAA Division II Elizabeth City State 92-50 Monday night at ECSU's Vaughn Center.

Freshman Alex Whitley capped an 8-0 rally in the first half with a bucket and free throw to pull the Herd within five points at 18-13 with 12:01 to play.  Then ECSU pulled away, outscoring MACU 28-8 to finish the half and lead at intermission, 46-21.

The homestanding Vikings shot a blistering 61% from the field in the second half and the game was never again seriously in doubt.

DeCarlos Anderson led the Vikings (1-5) with a game high 19 points. Marquice Sims was the leading scorer for MACU (1-7) with 15 points.

The Mustangs will break for the Thanksgiving holiday before traveling to Lexington, VA on Tuesday, Dec. 2 for their first ever game against an NCAA Division I opponent, VMI.
