Box Score It was the game that wouldn't end, and like a sports restaurant commercial, the fans didn't seem to mind. Unfortunately, someone had to lose, and on the second night of the Mid-Atlantic Christian Mustang Showcase, it was the hosts who came up short 103-100 in three overtimes to Trinity College (FL).
Mustangs coach Neal Alligood said after the game that he joked with the Tiger coaching staff at the end of regulation, "Who's at Buffalo Wild Wings pushing the lever? Then when we went to a second overtime, we just looked at each other and laughed."
Trinity Associate Head Coach Bobby Bowman said it was a game you hated to see end: "Somebody had to lose, but it's a game every player will remember for the rest of his life."
MACU got 39 points from juco transfer Marquice Sims and sophomore forward Joseph Hill added 21. Sophomore Rajiv Probhakar scored 16 to lead a balanced Tiger attack.
Neither team can rest on its laurels with a short turnaround awaiting. Trinity (1-3) faces Trinity Baptist Saturday at 1pm, and MACU (1-1) closes out the three-day Showcase meeting Davis College (NY) at 3pm. That game will be broadcast live here.
