Box Score The MACU Mustangs ended a 14-game drought with a gritty 74-60 win at Christendom College on Friday night. The Herd led by as many as 14 in the first half before the host Crusaders rallied to cut it to one at intermission. But a thunderous breakaway dunk by junior Marquice Sims broke it open in the second half, leading the young team to its 2nd win of the season.
On Saturday, the 'Stangs returned to Chesson Gym to host Central Penn, the 5th ranked team in USCAA Division 2. The big and fast Knights controlled the tempo much of the game, but MACU pulled within 14 in the second half before CPU pulled away for a 101-66 victory.
The Herd will play its next three games at home, beginning with Apprentice School (#11 USCAA Division 1) Tuesday Jan. 27 at 8:00pm.
