Box Score Guards Tyler Hendrix and Grayson Tejeda led the way for the Mustangs combining for 33 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists as the Men's basketball team defeated the Crusaders of Christendom College on Saturday afternoon in Front Royal, Va by a final of 69-49.
An early 6-0 deficit would give way to a Mustangs rout as the men were able to bring full court pressure and force 24 turnovers by the Crusaders which included 15 steals. The team used a tough interior defense led by senior Dixon Ogqo to limit 6'11 Luke Shultz, a mid season transfer from Montana State, holding him to just 11 points. Freshman center Jonathan DeLaRosa came off the bench to lead the team in rebounding with 10 boards to go along with 7 points.
The win was the fourth straight win for the Mustangs over their long time rivals and marks back to back seasons they have swept the season series. MACU returns to their home court Tuesday February 6 in Chesson Gym as they take on the 14th ranked (USCAA D1) Apprentice School at 7 pm.
