Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, NC-- The MACU Mustangs men's basketball team won 76-67 in the NSAC Tournament Semi-finals to keep their season alive. The Mustangs trailed 32-29 at halftime, but quickly took the lead in the second half. The largest lead came with a little more than 3 minutes left in the game, when MACU led 69-58. Some key free throws and a solid defensive effort helped to seal the deal for the Mustangs.
"We had not played a game in 17 days, so to come out and play a game as intense and challenging as tonight's game was tough, but our team stuck together and won as a team. Carolina Christian is a very tough opponent, but our guys played incredibly hard, and together, and we were able to come away with the victory. Kevin Fletcher was the games leading scorer, contributing 29 points, four assists, and two steals while playing the entire game. Senior forward
Malik Galloway had an impressive performance, scoring 20 points on 9-10 from the field, with seven rebounds and the game's lone blocked shot. Sophomore
Talik Totten pitched in 13 points and six rebounds.
The Mustangs will be back in action at home on Saturday as they take on the winner of Blue Lights College/ Warren Wilson for the NSAC Championship.
