Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- On January 13th, the men's basketball team started the New Year with a home game against Carolina University. The Mustangs started the game strong with a 20 point lead in the first half. The second half of the game was back and forth between the two teams. In the last five minutes of the game, Carolina pulled together and beat the Mustangs 89-80.
The Mustangs were led in points and rebounds by sophomore
Noah Richardson-Keys with 22 points and 8 total rebounds. He was followed by senior
Talik Totten and sophomore
Joshua Tyler who each scored 16 points.
The Mustangs battled hard against the Carolina Bruins and did not back down to the fight that was brought to them. Although they did not win this game, they have shown great improvement and a lot of spirit within themselves. The Mustangs will continue to practice and push towards finishing as strong as they start.
The next game for the Mustangs is on Tuesday January 16th. They will be playing against Apprentice School in the Chesson Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. Come and support our Mustangs!
