NEWPORT NEWS, VA -- On February 17th, the MACU Mustangs traveled to Apprentice School to face off in a rematch against the Shipbuilders. When the two teams last met, the game was tied until the end when the Shipbuilders managed to win by 8 points. Determined to redeem themselves, the Mustangs fought hard and led the game at halftime. Unfortunately the Shipbuilders managed to tie the game, causing the teams to enter overtime. The Mustangs refused to let this intimidate them and defeated the Shipbuilders 81-76.
Paving the way for the Mustangs was junior
Keith Shakes Jr., who has 22 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and a perfect free throw average. Following behind Shakes Jr. was sophomore
Stewart Clough and freshman
Keondre Rodgers. Clough managed 14 points and 8 rebounds while Rodgers had 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 steals.
