ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- On February 5th, the MACU Mustangs faced off against Regent on their home court. Earlier in the season, Regent barely beat MACU with a last second buzzer beater. In the rematch, the Mustangs were determined to avenge their previous loss. The Mustangs started strong and dominated the Royals in the first half. In the second, the Royals came back with a vengeance. Unfortunately for them, the Mustangs were too hot and conquered them, ending the game 85-73.
Leading the Mustangs to victory was sophomore
Stewart Clough, who had 25 points and 2 blocks. Closely behind Clough was sophomore
Janus Shepherd who has 23 points, 6 rebounds, and two steals. Freshman
Keondre Rodgers played a huge role by setting his fellow teammates up for victory. Rodgers ended with 5 assists, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds.
The Mustangs are on a 5 game winning streak! They will work to continue their streak on the road this Saturday at South Carolina State University. Their game is at 2 p.m.. Keep it up Mustangs!
