New Head Softball Coach Announced
ELIZABETH CITY, NC --  Jim Bell has been named Softball Head Coach at Mid-Atlantic Christian University starting with the 2026-27 school year. Coach Bell brings with him a wealth of experience in coaching, strength and conditioning, and player development. He spent the last year coaching at the collegiate level.  Prior to this, he has served as both an assistant and head coach at the high school level and in competitive travel softball, where he helped develop and mentor numerous athletes who went on to play at the collegiate level across all divisions.

With a dynamic and analytical style of coaching, Coach Bell is known for his passion for recruiting, scouting, and building players from the ground up. He is a firm believer in the value of game analytics and takes pride in fostering a culture built on fundamentals, disciplined conditioning, and strong team unity. His approach emphasizes not only competitive success, but also character, accountability, and long-term development.

Education is just as important as experience to Coach Bell. He has a BS in Behavioral Sciences from the University of Maryland and Masters in Kinesiology from A.T. Still University as well as holding national certification in strength and conditioning and is a Level 1 and Level 2 certified coach through USA Weightlifting. Off the field, he is deeply committed to the academic and personal growth of his players, encouraging excellence in the classroom and a lifestyle that reflects the mission and values of MACU and MACU athletics.

Coach Bell and his wife are the proud parents of two amazing daughters.

A.D. Meneely commented, "We are excited about this new step with the program.  Coach Bell has a track record of recruiting at our level and will be a capable mentor in other aspects..  We are grateful to Coach Delosreyes and her coaching staff for all their work in restarting the MACU softball program.  She will remain with the program and step into an assistant role primarily in charge of operations."
