Box Score For the first time in the young history of the program, the Lady Mustangs took the court for Senior Night to recognize the first two seniors Lacresha Young and Benita Boyd, and on this night a new tradition was born, winning on Senior Night. After the brief celebration of the first senior class to pass through the program came to a close, the Mustangs took to the court and defeated the Crusaders of Christendom College by a score of 64-49.
The Mustangs struck quickly in the opening minutes to secure a lead that they would never relinquish thanks in large part to great team play that led to a season high 19 assists on 25 field goals. The win evened the season series with Christendom at a game a piece and snapped an 11 game losing streak by the Lady Mustangs.
Four starters were in double figures led by junior Cham Brice with 16 points to go with 7 assists and Youngs 11 points and 8 assists. Freshmen Whitney Rowe registered her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds and Boyd had 10 points.
The Lady Mustangs return to action Friday February 20 at 8 pm to take on Christendom College in the Chesson Classic. The winner will play in the championship game against the winner of the Central Penn/Apprentice(Friday at 6) at 3 pm Saturday following the consolation game at 1 pm. Tickets are only $5 at the door.
