Men's Soccer

Bryant, Jones Lead Mustangs to Second Win of the Season

Box Score

For the second time in 2019 the MACU Soccer team has made history as they registered their first win in program history on their home field, with a 3-2 victory over Patrick Henry.

Early on it appeared as though Patrick Henry would walk away with the victory as they took a 1-0 lead into halftime before adding a second goal to make it 2-0 early in the second half.  The Mustangs continued to play hard, as they have all season, and sophomore Noah Bryant scored a goal on a penalty kick to cut the deficit in half with just over 20 minutes left to play and later notched his sixth goal of the season to even up the game.  Freshmen Justin Jones would put the game winner in with six minutes left to play, helping the Mustangs complete the comeback while fellow freshmen Noah Jarman came through big in goal for the Mustangs with six saves including a save on a penalty kick, his third save on a PK this season.

The Mustangs return to action as they complete a marathon of three home games in three days as they host the Wasps from Emory & Henry College on Sunday September 15.  The game kicks off at 2:30 on the Mustangs Soccer field on the campus of Mid-Atlantic Christian University.  For more information and the latest scores and updates go to www.gomacumustangs.com
