Box Score For the first time in five attempts, the Lady Mustangs departed for a game at Trinity Washington and returned with a victory by a final score of 39-23.
The defensive battle would see both teams struggle from the field, however MACU was able to hold their opponent to just 14.5% from the field and a 1-17 shooting performance from beyond the three point line. For their efforts on the defensive end the Lady Mustangs were not only rewarded with a win, but the team also added their collective names to the team's record book by holding an opponent to the fewest points allowed in a game. The previous mark of 31 points allowed was set on January 27, 2018 against Appalachian Bible College.
Sophomore Judea Edmonds led all scorers with 14 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while freshmen Sarita Smith added 12 points and 9 rebounds for the Lady Mustangs.
The Women's Basketball team returns to the court on January 14 at 7:00 pm as they head north once again to face the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan University. The game will be broadcast on Boxcast and can be found at boxcast.tv.
