Mustangs Split Double Header, Defeat TNCC

The Mustangs Baseball team went home Sunday evening with a split in their double header with Penn State Mont Alto dropping the first game by a score of 13-8 before picking up their second win of the season 7-2 in the second.  The team created their first winning streak of the season as they held off a 7th inning rally by the Gators of Thomas Nelson in route to a 6-5 win on Tuesday afternoon.  

By the Numbers:

- Freshmen pitchers Caleb Whitley and Gabrial Rivera each picked up their first wins of the season.  Whitley worked 7 innings on Sunday giving up just 1 earned run while striking out 7 batters while Rivera pitched 3 1/3 innings with 1 earned run and 4 strikeouts.

- First Baseman Nick Boyle connected on a 3 run shot over the right field fence for the first home run by a Mustang in the programs brief history.  

9 - Right Fielder Hunter Hall collected 9 hits and 7 RBIs over the the 3 game span, going a combined 9-11 at the plate.

11 - The Mustangs collective team speed on the bases led to 11 steals and helped the team score 21 runs during the three game span.
