DUBOIS, PA -- The Mid-Atlantic Christian University baseball team completed their 2022 campaign dropping a couple of contests in the USCAA National Tournament in DuBois, Pennsylvania. This marked the second consecutive season that the Mustangs made an appearance in the season ending national tournament.

Game 1 - Southern Maine Community College 8, Mid-Atlantic Christian University 6

Following a lengthy rain delay the Mustangs took to the field and immediately got to work on offense, scoring 2 runs in both the first and second innings.  Another pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning would see the Mustangs holding a 6-3 lead heading into the bottom half of the inning.  Powered by a grand slam the SeaWolves would take the lead for the first time in the game before closing out the game in the seventh inning.

"We had the right guy in the right spot. Ball just didn't go our way.  Felt that the umpire missed the strike call the pitch before it." Coach Michael Louis on the game, "I would make the same move again."

The Mustangs were led by junior Will Warren as he collected 2 hits and 2 RBIs and sophomore Jalyn Lee with a double and two RBIs of his own.

The Mustangs return to action in the USCAA Small College World Series on May 17 at 1:30 pm unless otherwise noted due to inclement weather.  Live stats can be found on the USCAA website or go to the USCAA Sports Network to watch the game live.

Game 2 - The Apprentice School 11, Mid-Atlantic Christian University 1

Less than 24 hours following their first appearance in the USCAA National tournament the Mustangs Baseball team once again took the field.  After taking an early 1-0 lead in the game the game would tilt in the direction of the Builders the rest of the way as Apprentice took home the decisive 11-1 victory. The victory was the first in a string for the Builders who would eventually take home the USCAA National Championship.

Sophomore Jalyn Lee led the way for the Mustangs going 1-3 with the lone RBI of the day.  True freshmen Eudy Medina led the effort from the mound pitching 2.2 innings and only giving up 2 earned runs while striking out 3.

Despite the loss, the Mustangs carried home many positives from their experience most notably the continued success of junior Will Warren who through two trips to the USCAA Nationals is hitting .500 going a combined 6-12 at the plate.  In addition the Mustangs are a team that featured 7 freshmen starters that will lead to a more experienced group returning for the 2022-23 season. Head Coach Michael Louis said, "We have a lot to build on and this is a high character team.  It's a great core."
