ELIZABETH CITY, NC-- The MACU Mustangs Volleyball team fell to the Regent Royals at home in four sets on Tuesday night.
All four sets were close, with the Mustangs putting up a valiant effort all game long. Regent took the first set 25-22, to which the Mustangs responded, winning the second set by the same score, 25-22. Tied after two sets, Regent was able to take the next two sets, 25-20 and 25-16, in close fashion to win the game.
"I am really proud of how the girls played together against Regent. They played hard and communicated really well. Even though we came up short in the end, we had some great volleys and were excited to win the second set," Head Coach

Senior
McKenna Griffin led the way for the Mustangs, collecting 19 digs, nine kills, and five aces. The Mustangs had solid contributions from their Freshmen as well as
Reign Powell had 18 digs, while
Emily Hill pitched in 12 assists and 11 digs, and
Lainie Russell added eight digs, seven assists, and an Ace.
The Mustangs are 0-2 on the season, and are back in action this weekend when they travel to face Bryant and Stratton in a weekend tournament.
