Mid-Atlantic Christian University would like to announce that Lake Krehel is being promoted to head men's baseball coach. Krehel has been with the program since inception as an assistant. His duties have mostly dealt with managing the pitching staff. He will begin his role as head coach immediately.
Coach Krehel commented, "I'd like to thank MACU for this opportunity. It has been great working with Coach Louis over the last three years and I have learned a lot from him. I look forward to working with these young men in the years to come and we hope to continue to add to the success we have established."
Andy Meneely, athletics director, had this to say, "We are excited about Coach stepping into this role. I have seen alot of growth as a Coach over the last few years. He is an Elizabeth City native that wants to see successful college baseball in his hometown. This kind of stability in an athletics program brings alot of advantages to a small college."
Coach Krehel works as a civilian contractor at the Coast Guard base as a business analyst. He has been there for nine years. He is a graduate of ECSU with a degree in business administration. He and his wife, Brittney, are expecting their first child in July.
