ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- The MACU mustangs played Regent Wednesday, August 23rd, on Aligood Field and lost 1-4. Regent outshot the Mustangs by 19.
Freshman (First Flight High School) Aedan Savage scored the first goal of his career and in the game with 30 minutes left to go in the second half. Freshman (East Wake Academy) Mattox Bryant had 15 saves throughout the game in his first collegiate start.

Coach Givargis commented saying, "Our goal in this game was to open the game up wide and then come in towards the inside. Unfortunately, we did not get to do this as much as we wanted and we played mostly defense. We also had a few injuries on the team and I believe if they did not happen, we would have played much better. Regent was stronger than us but we are moving forward with stronger tactics to help us finish the game better."

The Mustangs start off the season 0-1. Their next game is at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA on September 9th.
