FORT ROYAL, VA -- Over the weekend, the Lady Mustangs traveled to Fort Royal, VA to face off against Regent University and Christendom College in a tri-match. Down a starter, the ladies fought their hardest to make up for the missing teammate. Eventually, the mustangs could not come overpower their opponents and lost to each team 0-3.
Despite the loss, the ladies still had some great plays in the games. In the game against Christendom College, Sophomore
Lainie Russell, Currituck County High School, ended the game with a total of 21 digs and 11 assists. Against Regent University, Sophomore
Marylou Daniels, Riverside High School, had a total of 9 digs while
Lainie Russell had 8 digs and 4 assists.
Coach Jennifer, affectionately called Coach Jenn by her players, commented on the games saying, "We fell short this weekend. We were missing one of our starters which was rough on our rotation. We are looking forwards to the game this weekend so we can have a rematch."
The Lady Mustangs will play again this Saturday, the 16th, against Christendom College and Lenoir Community College in the Chesson Gymnasium. The games start at noon. Come out and show your support to these ladies in their rematch. Good luck Mustangs!
