ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- The MACU soccer team took home their first victory of the season by defeating Carolina Christian College, 5-1, on Saturday, September 16th at Alligood Field.
The Mustangs registered season highs in shots taken with 37 and goals scored with five, in the winning effort.
Sophomore
Jacob Colon (John A. Holmes High School) led the team by scoring three of the five total goals in the end of the first half and the beginning of the second. Freshmen Aedan Savage (First Flight High School) and Brady Osborne (Rosewood High School) ended the second half by scoring a goal each.
Coach Givargis commented on the game saying, "We played very well as a team and supported each other throughout the game. The other team played well for having no substitutions as our team should have made more of the shots we took. Overall, I am pleased with my team and the positive result of this game. I look forward to our future games as we grow stronger as a team."
The next game for MACU will be a home match on September 22 against The Crown College. Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m. Come out and support the team!
