ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- On Tuesday October 29, the MACU Men's Basketball team faced off against the Montreat Cavaliers on the campus of Mid-Atlantic. The game was intense and both teams battled for the lead throughout the game. Ultimately, the Cavaliers overcame the Mustangs in the last half and won 70-79.
Despite the loss, the Mustangs had some talent on the court. Leading the team in points and rebounds was freshman
Keith Shakes Jr. who scored a total of 23 points and had 11 rebounds. Following behind him in skill were freshmen
Tyus Williams and
Stewart Clough who both had double digits in scoring and three rebounds each. Clough managed to make every free throw, a feat only matched by Shakes Jr., along with having the only two blocks of the game.
The Mustangs will continue their season on the road. Their next game is on 11/2 against St. Andrews University. Safe travels and good luck Mustangs!
