Box Score 2 MARION, NC --MACU baseball opened their season at Big League Camp and started off their season with an offensive explosion. Game 1 the Mustangs trailed early and took the lead on what turned out to be a game winning triple in the bottom of the 8th from
RJ Cabrera to right center field. Game 2 and 3 the offense continued to stay in stride but the Mustangs ultimately fell short.
Adam Schell started off his Mustang career going 8-13 on the weekend.
Colin Langley started the season off on a good note as well throwing 4 innings and
Dakota Jacobsen came in throwing the final 5 innings allowing only 2 hit and zero earned runs to earn the Mustangs their first win of the season.
Coach Krehel followed up by saying "This team started the season off hitting the ball really well and getting runners on base in almost every inning. We are out hitting our opponents, we just haven't got all the runs across the plate like we needed. The team has had each others back in every game and the teamwork is great to see this early in the season. Solid start to how our season started and excited to see where this season goes for us."
The Mustangs look to continue their offensive power as they travel to the Apprentice School on 2/7 for a double header against conference rival The Newport News Apprentice School.
