ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- On Thursday August 22, the Lady Mustangs faced off against Pitt Community College. The gym was alive with crowds of people cheering for the Mustangs. In the first two sets, MACU battled for the upper hand against Pitt. Unfortunately, they capped out at 17 points both sets and were unable to overcome the challenges they were faced with. Despite being down, the Lady Mustangs continued to work hard and showed some new skills and talent that made had spectators in awe. The ladies lost their third and final set 8-25.
Junior
Carly James returned to the court with a fire in her and led the team with three kills. Following behind James was Freshman
Tessa Dodson, who began her career with three aces, seven digs, and two kills. Assisting these ladies was Freshman
Madelyn Delosreyes who was a rocket on the court. Delosreyes assisted 6 of the 8 kills in the game and had 4 digs to her name.

Jennifer Herman commented on the effort of her team by saying, "The girls played hard today and for that, I am very proud. Although we didn't get the win, we won in our book. The girls set a group of small goals to accomplish and they did just that. They showed determination, teamwork, and resilience which helped them reach above and beyond. Looking forward, the girls will build on the foundation we have established and work to finish just as strong as they begin."
The next game for the Lady Mustangs will be at Rockinham Community College on August 31. Good luck ladies!
