Lady Mustangs Dominate in Home Tri-Match

        ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- On September 14, the MACU Mustangs faced off in a tri-match against Christendom College and Trinity Washington University. The first game was between the Lady Mustangs and the Christendom Crusaders. This match was an intense back and forth between the two teams. The Crusaders won the first match 14-25 which seemed to light a fire under the Mustangs as they proceeded to win the next two matches 25-20 and 25-22. The Crusaders won the fourth match 22-25 which led to the winner being decided in the fifth match. The back and forth continued between the teams in the final match but the Mustangs came out victorious with junior Jade McMillion scoring the game winning kill.
        In the game against Christendom, the team leaders in kills were freshmen Tessa Dodson, who had 10 kills, and Faith Mooneyhan, who had 9 kills. Freshman Setter Madelyn Delosreyes showed off her skills as she ended the game with 29 assists and 2 kills.
        After facing Christendom, the Lady Mustangs scouted out the game between Christendom and Trinity Washington in which Christendom won 3-0. Then, it was time for Mid-Atlantic to battle against Trinity Washington. The Mustangs showed their strength as they were able to defeat Trinity Washington in 3 sets. The scores in the sets were 25-21, 25-16, and 25-11.
        Jade McMillion led the team with 5 kills while Madelyn Delosreyes had 13 assists. 
        Coach Jennifer Herman commented on the win by saying, "I am so proud of the girls and their determination this weekend. They dug deep and fought hard to get two wins under our belts. Their teamwork and drive to succeed without a doubt doesn't go unnoticed. I am so proud of my girls."
        The Ladies will travel to play against Appalachian Bible College on September 21. Good Luck Ladies!
