Box Score Mustangs Win in Five!
ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- The MACU women's volleyball team picked up their first win of the season.  They defeated the Washington Adventist University Shock, 3-2.  The Mustangs had a 2-1 entering the fourth game, but a tough late run by the Shock send it to a fifth.  MACU wrestled for an early spread and fought off another late push by the WACU to secure the win.

Katie Branscombe and Carly James led the Mustangs in kills with nine each.  Maddy Delosreyes recorded 31 assists and 14 digs.  Selena Beans added in 12 digs.

Coach Herman remarked, "That was exciting!  It was great to finally see the hard work and effort these ladies have put in all year finally pay off with a win.  Hopefully we can add a few more before it is all done."

MACU volleyball will play next on Thursday, October 9th at Pitt Community College.
