Du Bois, PA -- The MACU Mustangs won their elimination game against Miami-Middletown, 5-4. There was plenty of late-inning drama. The top of the 7th was highlighted by
Josiah Collado hitting a go-ahead 3-run homer to the deepest part of the park in left center. MUM would threaten in the bottom of the inning but would leave two stranded without scoring.
Jack Valachovic and
Josiah Collado led the Mustangs. Walachovic had two doubles (2-3) and a run scored. Collado had a 3-run homer (1-3).
Ethan Sheppard threw 4.1 innings of scoreless relief for the win.
Dakota Jacobsen came in lefty-on-lefty with the tying run on second to record the save.
Coach Krehel commented, "The guys never stopped believing and came up big. But the job isn't finished and we gotta keep rolling."
The Mustangs will play again at 4 p.m. vs. Central Penn.
