Baseball Falls in NSAC Opener
NEWPORT NEWS, VA -- The MACU baseball team opened up the NSAC season at Apprentice and lost both games. The Mustangs were able to strike an early lead in the first game but weren't able to hold the lead. Then they mounted a comeback in the second game but fell just short.
Titus Bleckley led MACU at the plate batting 5-9 with a double. Landon Miller followed up batting 4-8 with two doubles and three RBI.
Coach Krehel commented, "We played a good series and had them on the ropes. Unfortunately we had some defensive miscues late in the games that Apprentice was able to capitalize on. Capela looked good in his first college start and kept us in it. We just fell a little short today."
MACU opens up at home this weekend versus Carolina University starting with a 9inning game at 6pm on Friday.
